Interest in the site continues to grow and we're now regularly seeing over 2300 visits per week. Analysis of the site logs suggests that some of these are automated sessions. While this is not currently a problem, it may start to overload the server if too many users start to adopt the practice. I'd therefore ask users accessing the site to consider the effect that this may have on other users. In addition, some requests are repeated daily; the SSN values are updated monthly and P.533 doesn't accommodate predictions to the level of an individual day. So, everything else being equal, the same result is returned every day for the month.
I'm wondering if some of the scripts are being used to present the data in alternative formats. If this is the case, I'd be happy to look into producing a revised format (possibly as a pdf download), maybe along the lines of the ARRL's format but allowing a user to specify a home location. The surface page accounts for less than 2% of the overall traffic but is something of a resource hog so I'm looking to replace this page with something a little more useful.
If anyone has any ideas on how to better present the results, please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I'd also be interested to hear how you're using the program and of course any help with translations would be gratefully appreciated.
